WHO ARE WE?

Master Your Money Now is a financial planning and education company with a passion for helping everyday people take control of their finances from the comfort for their own home.

Founded in July 2018 by Chris Carlin and based in Geelong, we regularly speak to every day Australians both individually and in group settings, teaching and empowering people with practical financial skills we should have been taught in school. In short, we make money easy to understand again.

We recently have been acquired by Vista Financial Group (ABN 16 624 573 039) and have partnered with Affinia, a boutique financial services provider, who has been delivering financial advice to Australians from all walks of life since 2004. Affinia has provided Master Your Money Now with an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL)*, enabling us to provide advice on a range of areas such as, but not limited to superannuation, retirement planning, personal insurances Centrelink and investments outside of superannuation. Affinia also ensures that all advice provided by Master Your Money Now is in your best interest.

CHRIS CARLIN

FOUNDER | FINANCIAL PLANNER

Chris Carlin is a financial planner for Master Your Money Now and Vista Financial Group. Chris is passionate about helping others achieve their financial goals and live out their dream lifestyle.

Chris has been in the financial planning industry for over nine years, helping Australians seeking to increase their income, understand super, protect their loved ones and plan for retirement. Chris is a regular commentator on blogs, LinkedIn, and Instagram on finance-related topics.

Chris is based in Geelong, but regularly speaks to clients Australia-wide via Zoom and Facebook. If you speak to your friends and family online, why not your financial planner also?

He has completed a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from Deakin University, majoring in Finance and Financial Planning.

To this day, Chris still has a greylead pencil stuck to the top of his computer monitor.

Outside of Master Your Money Now, Chris is a passionate soccer fan and supports Western United and Everton. He also follows AFL (Geelong), cricket (Melbourne Renegades), and Formula One (Red Bull). Chris is married to Natalie, a pediatric nurse, and proud New Zealander.

PATRICK CHIPP

FINANCIAL PLANNER

Patrick is a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional who is deeply committed to finance and helping clients achieve their financial goals. As a local who has grown up in the bayside area, Patrick has a deep understanding of the community and the unique financial challenges that residents face. He has a proven track record of success in helping clients accumulate and grow their wealth. In his free time, Patrick enjoys sailing, camping, and playing basketball, in addition to staying up-to-date on all things finance.

SHANE MOLONEY

Mortgage Broker

Shane is married with three kids and lives on the Bellarine Peninsula. On most weekends, you will find Shane busy fishing and having camping adventures with the family or spending time in the garden. He also enjoys photographing the natural landscapes of the peninsula and often rises early on a Saturday to watch the sunrise. Shane has been employed in the finance industry for over 25 years and has spent the last 15 years in the mortgage industry in Australia. He has seen many changes in the industry, seeing it grow from strength to strength, and believes in its unique value proposition to borrowers.

MARY DECENA

SENIOR PARAPLANNER

Mary is our Senior Paraplanner and does most of our research, analysis and documentation to ensure that all of our members get the best outcome for their situation. She has over four years of experience in paraplanning and has a Diploma in Financial Planning. In her spare time, she likes spending time at the beach with her family and friends.

“As a paraplanner, I want to continue making quality advice documents that will help Chris deliver compliant and easy-to-understand Statement of Advice document. Chris is a great adviser who works really hard to improve the quality of life of our clients. He genuinely care about our clients and I want to see more people benefit from him. NATASHA WARNAKULA

PARAPLANNER

Natasha is passionate about all analytical things and is the happiest when lending a helping hand to others. She holds a degree in Economics and Management from LSE and currently completing her MBA. She enjoys immersing herself in new ideas and ways of thinking. She enjoys travelling, exploring new cultures and places fascinated by the spiritual realities of the universe. She spends her free time reading and watching movies and loves to spend time with family and friends.

ANDREA MERCADO

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Andrea is from the Philippines. She graduated the year 2012 with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Communication major in Advertising. Art is her passion and she uses her creativity through Marketing and Graphic Designing. Because of her hunger for knowledge, she enrolls in different online courses that help her learn new things and apply them to her work or hobbies. She knows how to sketch and paint. She also loves playing computer and video games and she’s into sports, especially, badminton and basketball.

“Graphic design is my absolute passion but what I am also passionate about is taking on new expeditions to discover more that I love to do. Expeditions require exploration which is very valuable for me when I conduct market research, video editing, and designing.
